...and about the City of Graz

Why study at Graz, Austria?

For the authentic experience of central Europe; to get some basic language skills, or to improve or perfect one's German; for the quality of teaching and teaching practice( and other aspects of the academic, teaching and social experience) offered by the small Graz Catholic University College of Education - those are three reasons often mentioned by former students.
Also, Graz (being Austria's second largest city) has about fifty thousand students among its population of a quarter of million; with a permanent opera, several orchestras, three municipal and countless 'off' theatres, cabaret venues, jazz and rock formations...
See for yourself if the following short paragraphs can help to substantiate some of these claims.

Graz is a bustling, thriving city - materially, culturally and spiritually

In Graz, Austria's second largest city with about 250.000 inhabitants, affluence and the consumer society are everywhere (or nearly) - tokens of successful business acumen, specialisation, and working spirit. At the same time, we are blessed with Austrians who think (some of them teachers, or students, at this Catholic college); who believe material progress alone is not enough as a goal in life, and question excess and hypocrisy; some of them adopt a different lifestye.
Classical and contemporaty art, music, and literary activities are seen and heard and felt everywhere in Graz, with the daily events page in the local newspaper listing between 3 and 13 activities in each of those categories, most days.
Graz  is the seat of a Catholic diocese and bishop: the present office holder's predecessor but one in fact founded the Graz Catholic University College of Education in the 1960s, in the spirit of the Second Vatican Council, which was a keystone in the College's development - which lives on to this day, in the spirit of many people working and studying there.
